I LOVE THIS BRAND..,
I get my vanilla protein from Vegan Smart. Saw this new flavor snd snagged it. It’s pretty good! I typically just dump 2 scoops in a blender when making protein smoothies. Decided to mix the berry and vanilla together. I liked it, but thats a personal thing. If you are already familiar with this brand and like it, I say try this new flavor!!!

Wonderful all in one shake with a lot of delicious recipe combinationsNaturade Vegansmart All-in-one Nutritional Shake, Vanilla, 22.75 Ounce
I bought my first container of Naturade Vegan smart All-in-one Nutritional Shake at a local CVS store. I decided to purchase this one here through Amazon. I normally do not like a Vanilla protein meal replacement shake for anything. This one is the exception. I truly enjoy making my very own cafe mocha Cacao shakes. My favorite recipe is 1 cup of vanilla or unsweetened almond milk, ice, 2 scoops vanilla Vegan smart, 1 tsp instant coffee, 1 tsp organic cacao powder, 1 tsp (heaping) organic cacao nibs and sometimes I add a tsp of caramel flavoring or organic cacao butter shavings or coconut oil. Depends on my mood. The cacao nibs are a wonderful addition to the shakes. I love that these vegan smart shakes are organic, non gmo, made with whole foods, loads of vitamins, probiotics, fiber and omegas. These are a filling meal replacement for me. I have many concoctions that I love to make, but the one I listed is the best so far hands down. I have searched for a long time for a delicious healthy shake and thanks to a friend I have have found this one. You won’t go wrong giving this a try. I am a really picky person and I do love this one.

After Much Self Testing, A Winner
I’ve been using this protein powder (vanilla flavor) every day for about 6 months now and I love it. It blends beautifully and isn’t gritty at all. The vanilla flavor is the best: subtle and not very “chemically” & just sweet enough to get you comming back for more but not too sweet where you feel like you just guzzled a milkshake. I recently tried the chocolate flavor of Vegansmart and like the flavor distinctly less than the vanilla.Prior to having this brand I was in the process of trying/researching the best vegan protein powders and the following are what lost to Vegan Smart for me:- Bob’s Red Mill Vanilla with chia seeds (ok taste but kind of grainy and the seeds lingered – ew)- Vega protein powder in chovolate (too sweet and the flavor was much more “healthy” tasting as if you could almost taste the greens)- Garden of Life Raw Organic protein powder in vanilla (grainy & hard to swallow more than a mouthful)

Very satisfied first-time buyer
Being new to the Nutrional supplement shake world, I’ve been looking into various options for awhile. My first and primary concern was taste – if it doesn’t taste good, I know it will just collect dust on the shelf. My secondary concern was to find something that would provide supplemental nutrition to make up for the gaps in my diet – I don’t prefer to eat most types of fruit, but I know I’m missing out on some valuable nutrition.I just received the package in the mail about half an hour ago. I immediately opened it (I bought the chocolate flavor), pulled out some vanilla almond milk (Silk brand), and followed the mixing directions. I had some difficulty getting the powder to mix in, so I used my immersion blender to zap it a few times. It turned out thick and smooth – something between the consistency of milk and a milkshake. Upon first taste, I was BEYOND thrilled to discover that it actually tasted GOOD. There is a very slight aftertaste, but nothing overwhelming. As I’d generally be considered a picky eater, I think it’s safe to say most people who enjoy chocolate would find this tasty. It has a taste similar to chocolate milk. I am very pleased with this purchase. For those wondering – in the picture I sprinkled some flaked coconut and a few roasted cacao nibs on top as a garnish.

vegans + vegetarians need B12!
It only took me 20 years of being a vegetarian to realize it’s not just iron I’m low in but vitamin B12 which is usually only derived from animal sources. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian and feeling sleepy or lethargic, this might be it…As a longtime Vega protein powder customer, I was on the hunt for a powder:- with the elusive vegan sourced B12 (this has 150% dv vs Vega’s 15%) that also- that had enough iron- was low in sugar- and not too high in carbsDo I seem high maintenance?! This hits those points and the vanilla creme flavor tastes good (no aftertaste of stevia but also subtly sweet enough to disguise all the greens I sneak in my smoothies). This is ~a third of what I consume in a day so I wanted it to be as healthy as possible. I love Kelly leveque’s fab 4 smoothie and use this to make that.(Related PSA: the So Delicious brand of Coconut milk sold at Safeway and even CVS is also high in B12. I’m not sure why they don’t lead with that, but it’s another great way to get in those vitamins we’re low in.)

Love the taste
Love the taste, mixes up well in my smoothie blender. (The Montel Williams one) I’ve been using almond milk, banana and or kale – spinache with it. I’m surprised how good it tastes. It isn’t something you have to plug your nose and chug down. I have no problem substituting meals with this and I feel so much better knowing I’m putting vitamins in my body that I wouldn’t be getting otherwise. Raw vegetables have a high vitamin content but I won’t just eat them raw by themselves. The cancer rate is also a concearn of mine….no doubt we are all being poisoned…probably from numerous sources. We need to take extra care of our nutrition because of this. I’ve been slowly adding changes to my diet. For instance using iodized sea salt since our salt is now deficient of iodine which is vital to our health and ability to fight off cancer. Started cooking with pure unrefined coconut oil rather than vegetable oil, I buy organic bananas and eat at least 1 daily. Etc. Now I found this product and I’m sticking to it. I’m also making my container last a month since I am too cheap to spend $60 a month on this. One day I may only have 1 or 1 and a half scoops instead of 2. Still tastes great!!

The flavor definitely grows on you!
Sorry for no pictures but it’s protein powder.. you get it! I am using this product for meal replacement and post workout. I mixed it with water and with a lactose free milk (separately) both liquids blended just fine and the taste wasn’t a very sweet chocolatly taste or chalky. The taste has definitely grown on me and I feel personally that the plant based products tend to be a little bland at first. Only wish you got a little more for the price but there was a subscription option to save money…might be trying that.

Almost too good. I have to stop myself from drinking it all day.
I haven’t tried a very wide variety of nutritional shakes but after trying a couple others, I’m fairly certain it doesn’t get better than this. It just can’t. This stuff is so good in every way. I’ve only tasted the vanilla flavor, and it is delicious whether you add almond milk or just mix it straight with water. I I usually go half water, half almond milk. I recently began trying a vegan diet and I don’t think I could do it without this stuff. It usually replaces my breakfast and leaves me feeling energized for a morning’s work. The texture is so silky smooth it shouldn’t even be possible without some form of dairy products in it. I’ve never tasted shakeology or any of the top shelf brands, but I can’t imagine they could do anything that much better than this stuff does. Whether you’re vegan or not, if you’re searching for a nutritional shake and/or meal replacement, just give this stuff a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed and your body will thank you.PS – I also like to add a scoop of that Amazing Grass “Green Superfood” to my shakes. Doesn’t hurt the flavor at all and that stuff is another fantastic health food that everyone should be using every day.

… search for a vegan protein shake that doesn’t have bad chemicals/additives and doesn’t taste like chalk
(Prime Member) In a search for a vegan protein shake that doesn’t have bad chemicals/additives and doesn’t taste like chalk, I found Vegan Smart. I have tried the Chocolate and Chai flavor (both are great!). For a healthy, high protein snack I usually put one scoop of the protein powder, a cup of almond milk, a single serve size Chiobani coffee greek yogurt and a few ice cubes into a blender. Super delicious and much healthier version of a frozen coffee drink with lots of protein! Now, I did make the fatal mistake of buying Beachbody’s Shakeology once before. If you are familiar with that, I’ll be honest, you aren’t going to find another protein poweder with that many superfood ingredients that blends so rich and creamy. But if you are like me and can’t afford to pay that kind of price for your protein, this is the next best thing I’ve found. We’ve been using this brand for the past year and are still enjoying it.

Good product
I have been using this product for about a year. It mixes well with no gritty texture. The flavor is good although I usually mix in a blender with a banana, yogurt and frozen fruit. I like that it is sweetened with Stevia and not sugar or artificial sweeteners. The container suggests 2 scoops for a serving (15 servings per container). I only use one scoop as I use this everyday and I could not afford to buy this twice a month which is what would need to happen if I used 2 scoops.

NOT ORGANIC SO BEWARE IF LOOKING TO SUBSTITUTE GARDEN OF LIFE RAW MEAL
I have 4 autoimmune diseases and am malnourished, so I need a liquid diet, an organic, vegan meal replacement. I was fooled by another reviewer into buying this because I thought she understood since she has a similar story. BUT BEWARE THIS IS NOT ORGANIC.Since Garden of Life was recently recalled I was on the hunt for a new organic vegan shake meal replacement that is anti inflammatory and low in sugar. THIS SHAKE IS NOT ORGANIC. It’s Gmo free which is not good enough as pesticides and chemicals invade all the vegetables and fruits in this shake. It has to be certified organic to be sure no pesticides were used and harmful toxins to health. In addition this shake has 5Xs the sugar as the garden of life raw meal shake. Sugar is inflammatory. Organic is always better. Especially for autoimmune diseases organic is critical to allow your filter organs to process out all the medications and toxins from diseases and to heal instead of fighting to keep up. So to those reading other reviews and buying this shake… DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.My husband however loves this shake as the flavor is a rich chocolate. Non gmo is better than gmo, so if your looking for a very CHOCOLATEY NON GMO vegan meal replacement and sugar content isn’t as critical, then maybe you will love this shake. For myself I have decided to have Orgain instead until the Garden of Life Raw Meal shakes are back in stock.

Good mix, small amount of srvings
Flavor is above average (chocolate). I have historically used Vega One, but don’t like the organic versuon of their chocolate meal replacement shake (they discontinued the non-orfanic version). This flavor isn’t better or worse, just different from what I am used to. Definitely palatable. Mixes well with skim milk. Has a little more sodium (added with seas salt) than I prefer. Not sure why they chose to add more. The only real con that I see is that there are only 15 servings per container. I tried skimping on the two scoop serving size, but it left the flavor weak and the shake runny. I wish they made a bigger container (or filled this one more).

Great for surgery recovery
i had a difficult post operation experience due to severe hemorrhaging. I couldn’t even hold my cell phone for almost a week after the procedure. The simple act of chewing food was exhausting. I had half a container of Naturade Vegan Smart in the house from when I attempted to become vegetarian earlier that year. (I failed to become a vegetarian back then because i wasn’t patient enough to find the right mix to make it enjoyable.)Once I got discharged to come home, my dad came to help with my recovery process. He looked in my pantry and found the VeganSmart. First he mixed it with orange juice. It wasn’t great but it was much better than any other attempt I had in the past and I was able to drink this cocktail for almost a month. Unfortunately, my stomach muscles are still weak and I developed silent acid reflux. Now I have to skip the orange juice. I hate yoghurt but now I’m trying to drink a bit a day to restore my health. I found the combination of this Naturade VeganSmart Vanilla (one scoop) with 3/4 glass of unsweetened original Almond Breeze almond milk along with a 3oz Dannon Danimals smoothie (strawberry explosion) and use The Greek Gods Kefir Cultured Milk (honey and strawberry) for the remaining glass space to be a comforting blend. I can now have two or three glasses of this cocktail throughout the day without making a face or holding my breath. I use a fork to beat it instead of a blender and it’s much less mess and easy to clean up. From the photo, it’s easy to see there are no clumps to make one go bleh.

Replacing Shakeology
I really like this shake. I’ve been a Shakeology drinker for 5+ years and was looking for something with a comparable nutrition profile but at a less expensive price. It became quickly apparent to me that a vegan shake would be the only one that would fit the bill (even though I did not drink the vegan variety of Shakeology and am not a vegan). I was looking for something that would act as a multivitamin (with probiotics and whole-food ingredients) without soy or artificial sweeteners, and most of the non-vegan shakes did not meet my requirements. After a lot of research, I discovered the VeganSmart shake. I was impressed with the nutrition and pleased with the price. I really enjoy the taste of the chocolate. My only complaint would be that I can’t seem to blend it as thick as I could my Shakeology…it’s icier and less creamy…but I think that’s something I will get used to over time. It may be that a vegan shake just can’t yield the same creamy consistency. I make mine with water, pb fit and ice. My husband is enjoying it with peanut butter, almond milk, ice, and about half a frozen banana (the frozen banana does seem to produce a slightly creamier shake). Overall, super happy to have found this. It will save us half of what we were paying for Shakeology, even with my Team Beachbody “coach discount.”

Fairly average
I got this based on other reviews saying that it tastes great and mixed well and not gritty. I find the taste ok, nothing amazing, and I coughed from the amount of grit. I use a submersion blender for a good 2 minutes and it’s still gritty. Perhaps it’s being plant based? Will finish it and then try a non-all-plant version.Would not buy again due to the grittiness.

I decided to go with this brand and I am glad I did
Whey protein, no matter the brand, leaves an awful aftertaste in my mouth so I started looking for a non-dairy protein powder that did not rely on soy protein. After much research, I decided to go with this brand and I am glad I did.The ingredients are tops, including the addition of a prebiotic, whole food complex, and digestive enzymes (huge for me as I have trouble digesting protein powders). It is also sweetened naturally, which is important for me.I have heard some people complain about carbs, 5 g of sugar is not bad at all for a meal replacement, especially one that does not use Sucralose or aspartame. A large percentage (6g) of the total carb count is fiber. I watch my carbs, but I think unless you are diabetic, cutting for bodybuilding or have some other super strict reasons for avoiding carbs, 5g of sugar is just fine. Now onto the taste. I love it. It’s sweet, and I like sweet. I don’t think it’s over sweet. It’s in the range of what I have come to expect from a protein powder. I use a blender to make my smoothie, so it comes out smooth and delish. My husband, who loves his grass-fed whey, tasted my smoothie and loved it. No earthiness like you might find in other vegan blends, though I have tasted the Raw brand and didn’t mind the earthiness of the vanilla chai flavor. All in all, I have tried countless protein powders and I will definitely be coming back to this one. It didn’t leave the aftertaste of whey and I look forward to my smoothies.

Easy and delicious despite being a tiny bit lumpy
First of all, I am so happy that a vegan product like this exists. It was difficult to change from my usual Carnation Instant Breakfast when I decided to try to be more vegan, until I found this. It really tastes nice and substantial, and it gives me some peace of mind to know that I am taking care of a lot of the nutrients that might otherwise be gaps in my admittedly lazy vegan diet. Yes, this product is great for lazy vegans like me!My one issue is that the product is a little bit lumpy and so far I haven’t found a way to get around that. There will be some small lumps floating at the top even after stirring it for a long time, which is not the end of the world, but it also isn’t so appetizing. I tried buying a little shaker, the plastic kind you would use for making salad dressing, and that helped a bit, but even after shaking it vigorously for a good while there are always still a few lumps at the top. I don’t really mind, though, because the product tastes great like I said. I still look forward to enjoying this drink, though it would be nice if it were completely smooth!

I’d recommend this for someone looking for vegan protein w/ loads of extra benefits.
I use this solely as a breakfast meal replacement, and I feel that it’s satisfying, filling, and all the macro and micronutrients in it is useful. In fact, it’s really what made me choose this above all the other vegan protein powders. 2 scoops contain 20g of protein, 6g of fiber, 5g of sugar, 1g fat, and a chock full of iron, which is very important for me since I don’t consume meat. The flavour and texture is something I had to get used to. I purchased the vanilla flavour; it’s a little overpowering for me and it’s chalky when I’ve blended it. The flavour is something you’ll adapt to, and the texture is something you can fix. I only use 1 whole banana, 1 1/4 c of cashew milk, and ice cubes so perhaps that’s why it feels a little dry.I’ve used these to make pancakes/waffles and the flavour stays the same and it doesn’t compromise the texture when baked/cooked.

Yummy and effective!
Love this! I am a vegetarian so I love this mix. I originally bought it because I was insanely busy and literally did not have time for food. I would replace my lunch with ONE scoop of this in one cup of almond milk. It tastes great. I actually like it. Most protein powders I only tolerate or drink because I have to but this one is actually yummy. And despite being low in sugar it is sweet 🙂 If you are into smoothie making the flavor completely disappears and you are left with a sweeter (slightly vanilla) smoothie. So GOOD!It suggests 2 scoops for 20 gram of protein but I do not need that much so I only used one scoop and it still worked great and kept me full for hours. Like most protein powders its hard to mix so I would suggest a blender bottle or whisk it in a bowl and then pour it into a glass. Now that I’m back to a normal schedule I rarely use this however I still love it every once and a while after a had workout.

Delicious!
This was the first time that I have tried anything Chai-flavored, and this was such a pleasant surprise! It tastes KIND OF like pumpkin spice, and mixed up very well with my almond milk. The only downside to this protein powder for me is the price to product ratio. I wish we would have gotten maybe 20 servings per container instead of only 15 for the price.I will definitely be purchasing more of this flavor, when I run out of the other flavors I currently have.

Good Taste, But Expired Month Was Ordered
I like the flavor of this berry shake. My wife also commented on the taste without any prompting from me. I am not on a vegan diet, I was just looking for something healthy for breakfast. I add uncooked quick-cook oatmeal that I soak in skim milk for a couple of minutes before I blend it with a banana and ice every morning and that’s been a nice routine for us. However, I noticed that the product’s expiration was the same month I ordered it Jan 2019 so that’s not good. It was through Amazon via a third party seller not direct from Amazon. There are so many powder brands out there it seems its hard for Amazon to carry a berry flavored one on subscribe and save but if this brand was availableI would subscribe to it.

I’ve tried other vegan chocolate flavor brands and they tasted not super great, so I wanted to try something new. This one was even worse. Mixing it with banana and peanut butter marks the taste, but I won’t be purchasing ir again.

Very Pleased
I just made my first shake and I have to say that so far I am impressed. I mixed two level scoops of the vanilla flavored Vegansmart with 14.5oz of unsweetened almond milk and blended it in my Nutribullet for 30 seconds. The container says to mix two scoops with 9-11oz of liquid but I used a bit extra. I didn’t even need the extra liquid, however, because it actually blended perfectly. No clumps, not at all chalky, just nice and smooth. It was basically the consistency of regular almond milk. I will say that it was a bit too sweet for my taste but nothing I couldn’t handle. It has a strong but pleasant flavor. I actually quite liked it and drank it down easily. I do plan on adding other ingredients to change up the flavor day-to-day because I would get sick of it pretty quickly otherwise. Overall I’m very pleased and will order again.

The health shake experiment!!
for the past 4 years, yes that is a 4. I have been searching for the perfect health shake supplement. I have tried close to 100 different ones. I am looking for more than just a protein shake, but alsoFor something that offers nutrients I just can’t seem to get enough of on my own diet.( I have an autoimmune disease and it blocks my body’s ability to absorb nutrients so this was a very personal quest for me) I wanted something with the following specifications:No soy- it is bad for skin and digestionNo whey- don’t even get me started on how that chemical junk is madeNo artificialsNo metalicsNo gimmicks, lies or tricksYes to as natural as possibleYes to fair priceYes to great tasteYes to healthyHere is a run down on a few1.Warrior food- not bad but forgettable as the taste was bland2.Shakeology- the price is out of this world!!!! Also only the vegan is worth the health benefits. Taste I preferred vegan chocolate and vanilla.3.The whey from off the counter at your local store- processed crap, no other healthy ingredients and taste awful!4.Spirutein- nice try claiming 0 sugar when replaced with fake processed crap that makes your bowels explode. Some include soy and others whey.5.Herba life- soy protein so it looses so soon6.Arbonne- Avon calling, not a great ingredient list.7.Raw Fit- price and dang a lot of calories in a serving!8.Raw Meal- taste so so, ingredients could be made better.9. Hemp or pea- yuck!!!!!!!!10.peanutbutter powder- where are the rest of the nutrients????And many more. The control in the shake was how I prepared it. Each mix was made with 8oz unsweetened 30 calorie almond milk, 4oz cold water, one banana, one tbls of natural peanutbutter and ice to taste. Of all the shakes I have tried, Vegansmart is hands down the best!!!!It has the extra minerals/ nutrients because your body needs those also to function properly, it has protein, no soy! No whey! No BS. It is a very fair price and it taste awesome!!! Even with just almond milk it is not too bad!!Of the many I have tried, the many that have failed one way or another this one has risen to the top. Have energy, feel full longer, regular from a healthy fiber/carb balance, and easyily obtained for purchase. I highly recommend this product!!!

Delicious, filling, easy to blend, great price – Highly recommend!
Edit:Idk when I first posted this, but I still use this product basically daily! I learned to mix the 2 scoops with 12 oz of water (it’s water soluable, so I was doing this the hard way for the first year or so), *then* add the almond milk to fill a 32 oz blender bottle. I now also add MCT oil to keep full for longer. I hope they never stop selling this!—–_—-_———————————————————- This product is amazing. It’s my coffee and breakfast all-in-one in the morning. I dislike eating in the mornings, yet I’m a cranky person when I don’t eat. So, this helps keep me full for a long time (about 3-4 hours) and not be monster in the morning. The serving size does require 2 scoops, and I know people comment on how it tastes in a limited amount of plant milk/water/etc. However, I put 12 oz of almond milk in a 32 oz blender bottle, add the 2 scoops, and top off with filtered water. I shake it vigorously for a few minutes, and it tastes almost like chocolate milk. When I’m running late, it takes about 1 minutes to throw the ingredients in the bottle, and head out the door. When I get to work, I just shake it then and drink it while checking my emails.I previously tried VegaOne, but something in there upsets my stomach for hours. So, I keep buying VeganSmart and add a little bit of leftover VegaOne to top it off. I also had a *really* difficult time getting all the “chunks” of powder broken up with VegaOne. I do not have that problem with VeganSmart — it takes less time to shake and blend; sure, sometimes there’s little chunks, so I just shake it up a little more. That said, I do think VegaOne’s nutrient profile is a little better, but VeganSmart wins out due to taste, not upsetting my stomach, and more easily blending. However, we’re all different, so see what works for you and your body, if you’re able to. Maybe this upsets your stomach but VegaOne doesn’t…If you want an easy way to compare different nutrients in plant-based powders, go to cronometer.com for free to see how they stack up – that’s what I did.Overall, the taste is delicious, it’s a solid breakfast, it’s a fair price. Highly recommend

Not a protein shake/meal replacer. Excellent Nutritional Shake. VERY affordable.
I recently started using this powder as a nutritional supplement. I know other reviews label it as a meal replacement – but I disagree with that. I use it as a part of my breakfast routine – combined with applesauce with chia seeds or yogurt with chia seeds, my Smart Gummy vitamins and Fiber Gummies, and some pecans or almonds. It’s very low calorie – if I replaced a meal with it I would never hit my daily calorie needs. Other reviews refer to it as a protein shake – it is not that, either. It only has the standard amount of protein you are supposed to get in a general meal.Overall, this product has been fantastic, though. I am saving money on supplements and not having to remember to choke down large pills – hello, amino acids. This one of the most affordable nutritional shake blends I have ever tried, and I even like to half the prescribed amount to save more and stretch it out – or just to split it up into two shakes throughout the day. I hate most supplement or protein shake ‘chocolate’ flavors, so I usually go for vanilla. I don’t know why I would ever order this in any other flavor! The chocolate may be great, but I adore the vanilla flavor. Sometimes I like to mix one scoop of VeganSmart All-In-One Vanilla with a tbsp of PB2 Premium Chocolate Powdered Peanut Butter – heaven. And as someone who is supposed to avoid dairy (although I never do) and someone who gets sick and blah feeling if I eat the wrong thing in the mornings, this is so gentle on my stomach. I don’t even mind the added sweeteners.I was using Vega All-In-One – which was nice because I use Vega Protein & Greens as my protein shake – and I really liked it due to the higher fiber and the six servings of greens it provides. That one also has more Omega’s… But it’s expensive – and, while it isn’t bad tasting, getting it with the protein & greens powder was proving to be duplicating too much of the same stuff for me. I looked at other vegan options – I am not vegetarian or vegan, I just try to avoid whey proteins due to taste and the fact that I consume too much dairy and need to avoid it. But I found this one that matched up with most of my supplements including Lysine (one of the worst pills to take!) and at the price, I couldn’t say no. So glad I found this. If VeganSmart made a protein blend, as well, I’d probably get that. For now I’ll stick with the Vega Protein & Greens, though. This is delicious. You can put it in a cute pink Blender Bottle with stacking cups for your later snacks or more powder for another shake (like I do, because fun containers make everything better), or just shake it up in one of those empty Vitamin Water bottles you have laying around (like my boyfriend does.) I highly recommend!

Vanilla tastes gross, chai is awesome!
The texture of this shake is great, the nutrients are nice, and I feel full for hours after drinking, so that’s a plus if you’re looking for it! But, the vanilla flavored shake is pretty bad. I have a high tolerance for health food flavors, but this vanilla is just gross. I think it’s the vanilla itself that makes it wrong, because if I put some cocoa in it it tastes better, if I just add fruit, it does not. I really like the nutrients here, but will not buy vanilla again after I choke down the rest of this one. That said, the chai flavor is lovely! I can’t say it really tastes like chai, but it does taste good. It does not have the strange chemically sweet taste of the vanilla. Even if you don’t care for chai flavors, I’d recommend giving it a try. My husband “hates” chai, but loves this chai powder. Do yourself a favor and skip the vanilla, too sweet and tastes like stevia processed through toilet bowl cleaner with a nasty after taste.

Best flavor
9/6/16: I have been using this protein powder every morning since my original review. I still love it. I’ve tried the vanilla flavor, and it is a good base flavor (mild, not overpowering) to mix with any frozen fruit. The chocolate is still my favorite flavor, but I have switched to the vanilla flavor because Sam’s Club sells a 56 serving size bag that reduces the price per serving to half the cost of the 15 serving size container on Amazon.Original review (7/13/16):I have tried two other vegan protein powders, but Vegansmart is my favorite because of it’s flavor. Of the three, it has the least “veggie” flavor and no odd sweetener aftertaste. The chocolate flavor is not overwhelming or artificial tasting. I cannot eat dairy (or dairy derivatives), so I am used to odd or unusual dairy and chocolate substitutes. But this protein powder far surpassed my expectations. It has an impressive amount of vitamins and supplements, while still only having 170 calories per serving. I blend the powder with unsweetened almond milk, ice, and frozen fruit and drink it for breakfast every day. The 20 grams of protein really make a difference in reducing my hunger in the morning. I will definitely be buying this product again. I have not noticed any digestive system side effects from this product, but I am used to a diet high in vegetables and fiber. For reference, the other two products I tried were
Vega Protein Smoothie, Choc-a-lot, Pouch, 9.2 oz
and
Garden of Life Organic Plant Protein, Smooth Chocolate, 280 Gram
. I would buy the Vega product again if I could not find Vegansmart, but I will never buy Garden of Life again because the flavor was awful and overwhelming.

By far the best tasting nutritional shake! Chocolate and Vanilla are great!
This is by far the best tasting nutritional shake I’ve tried. I don’t particularly care about my shakes being vegan or organic, I just need to avoid soy and whey while watching my carb intake. Finding a product like this, especially for a reasonable price, that tastes good, isn’t too thick, and dissolves completely without chunks was SO difficult until I picked this up at Meijer one time. They only carry vanilla there though, and it is a bit more expensive. Now that I know I like it, I’ve been ordering it here. Saves a few dollars and there are more flavors to choose from. I LOVE the chocolate. I’ve probably gone through 4 containers of the chocolate and 2 or 3 of the vanilla. I drink this in a blender bottle with around 10/11oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk and nothing else. Almond and Coconut milk mixes are good as well, but are a tad thicker and creamier and I prefer a thinner shake. My husband mixes it up for me and I drink it in the car on my way to work almost every morning. It’s like adult chocolate milk. It does taste best very cold. I’ve even had days where I didn’t end up drinking it on the way to work and put it in the office fridge for the next day. Still tasted just as good after a good shake. I’ll probably try the Strawberry next, although I’m not sure Chai interests me. I started drinking shakes with Shakeology from Beachbody but they didn’t taste that great too me, and I’m pretty sure they have whey or soy in them but I can’t remember now. I felt like they were expensive for something I had to force myself to drink or mix with a ton of fruit, nut butters, or other things to make it taste alright. By the time I did that it was full of sugar and carbs. Even “clean” foods still have macros that count folks, don’t fool yourself. This product meets all my requirements and I look forward to it every morning before my coffee. Chocolate also makes a tasty iced coffee mixture if you like. Please never stop making and selling this product because this is a must have pantry item in my house!

Everything you need to know about this stuff
THE GOOD:It tastes good in both flavors. I mean, actually good with no odd sweetener taste. Tastes a lot like cake batter and with a similar consistency. Compared to both Vega One and Raw Meal, Vega One is a stevia bomb (I passionately hate the taste of stevia) and Raw Meal doesn’t taste bad but has a gritty texture. Filling and nutritionally complete. Price is fair per serving, Raw Meal is bit cheaper and Vega One is really, really proud of their stuff. All the normal good things that come with a vegan meal….good energy, satisfaction, good poops, no bloat, overall happy body, all that stuff. I usually drop in some frozen berries, quarter cup of oat flour for extra carbs, and some greens powder, a cup of almond milk and I’m on my way – good for 4 hours after that before I get hungry. Since it tastes good you aren’t likely to tire of it soon.THE BAD:One serving size is two large scoops, and in a cup of liquid its pretty thick. Once you drink it, you feel a bit like you swallowed a tennis ball. It makes you FULL. And it sticks….an hour later you still feel full. It’s almost uncomfortable at times and it takes it a while for your body to move it along. Not being hungry is good but it can be a bit of a brick in your belly. The container doesn’t have a lot of servings, due to the large serving size.THE UGLY:The farts. Oh gawd, the farts. I went through three containers of the stuff, and I figured I just needed a week or so for my body to adjust. This was not the case. Being a vegan, I’m not exactly a stranger to farting. But this stuff brings forth the wind, and it comes knocking with a terrible vengeance. Not just in quantity, mind you, but blue-ribbon quality. It’s ridiculous. It’s a constant stream of gag-a-maggot indiscretions. I couldn’t be in the same room with my family. Even the dog was ready to pack his bags, and he loves wretched stink. I had no idea that a perfectly nutritious meal could cause such insufferable winds of plague to be unleashed from one’s body. Beware, you will NOT be popular if you are affected as I was. Vega One and Raw Meal do not perpetrate this vile crime against society when I consume it.

Okay, but too much Stevia aftertaste
The powder mixes well, it seems to offer the short term energy I desire, and the initial flavor is okay. The Stevia aftertaste is undesirable for my palette though.

Great product
Overall a great product but I think the amount of servings is very little for the price. I’ve had to split the serving size in half for it to last longer. The taste is great alone, a little grainy but bearable.

Not bad, might try the other flavors
The flavor really isn’t that bad..and I only used water. I don’t know why there are so many people complaining about that..whine about something more practical..smh. Anyway, it reminds me of a cream variety of oatmeal (in flavor). If you shake it enough, the texture isn’t bad at all either..it’s not too gritty for a powder. I haven’t tried using a blender but I’m sure that would make it quite smooth. My only issues are that it goes very quick (15 servings, so about 2 weeks if you use it once a day) and the fact that it didn’t seem to tide me over as well, as time went on. The first morning I used it, I was alert all morning and it sustained me for a few hours (~4hrs). The second week in, I wasn’t quite as lethargic as I had been beforehand but, not as much of an energy boost (wasn’t as noticeable, i guess). And I was damn near ravenous in like 2ish hours. Of course there are some variables that could affect how my body responded (ex: what I actually did in the course of the morning – energy expended that day vs another day). I would definitely prefer this as a quick meal to, say, grabbing some questionable granola bar and going about my day. Although I do wish there was more in a container, I will say that the price seems to be comparatively better than some other brands; some are charging at least double for the same amount (and about the same ingredients, with minor differences). I understand that they may be slightly different as far as components, but I would rather spend about 20 something than around 50 something for 2 weeks-worth of shakes. I do think I might shop around with some of the other brands but strictly for comparative reasons. And so I can laugh at (or perhaps agree with) the divas who didn’t care for the flavor and/or texture. It shouldn’t be that big a deal, you’re in it for the supplementation..so make alterations as needed (add fruit, add peanut butter, etc) smh. All-in-all, this one wasn’t bad.

Fantastic
Fantastic product, recommended – please stop including a measure instrument. It’s just more plastic waste and not needed; simply state (as already evident) the appropriate serving. 🙂

Chai
The chai flavor was sadly not chai to me. It tastes almost artificial and more like a gingerbread kind of spice ..kind of. I love making “protein chai lattes” with kachava chai some cold brew and oat milk. It makes my whole day happy haha :p. This is not the same sadly. I will finish it bc I really like this product otherwise and find it comparable to kachava aside from flavor. Next I’ll try vanilla or something and just mix that with chai concentrate to make my own flavoring :’). I should say that it isn’t bad or gross it’s just not at all what I expected it to taste like haha someone else may love it I just didn’t. It does mix nicely and consistency is great 🙂

Not as good taste wise
I tried this product because the regular naturade powder I had found at Target was really good, my expectations were high. This chocolate one has a chalky taste that I cannot stand with shakes. The way to lessen that for me was to add ice. However I don’t want to drink a cold shake all the time. I found using a scoop of regular naturade vanilla and chocolate mixed with trail mix nuts tasted good. I’m going to buy the vanilla flavor of this vegan smart and see (hopefully that one taste way better) how that goes. It does keep you feeling full and is a good meal replacement. I’m forcing myself to finish it since I don’t want my money to be wasted. Makes sense why this flavor is always on sale because maybe it doesn’t sell as well as the others. They need to use the formulation from the regular naturade line to keep the taste consistent because this chocolate vegansmart one isn’t it.

Flavor is amazing!
I’ve been using this for a lot of years. It’s great for people like us that don’t eat dairy. We make smoothies with frozen fruit. I recently started putting frozen spinach or kale in with it too and beet powder. It’s not gritty and the flavor of the vanilla tastes like cake! The chocolate is great tasting too. Sometimes we mix it with water instead of almond milk and it’s still good.

but the price is considerably better than I am able to get here
I’ve been using these shakes for about 8 weeks. I buy the chocolate flavor on Amazon, and the vanilla flavor at a local “club” store. (At the club store, they only sell vanilla, but the price is considerably better than I am able to get here.)I use 2 scoops of powder with 11 ounces of water. Shaken in the blender bottle, and then I sometimes add an ice cube to keep it cool while I drink. I went through a phase where I put it into the freezer for 30 minutes, which made it more like a frozen shake. These shakes are meal replacement for me. I am a an ovo-lacto vegetarian whose doctor recently advised eliminating dairy and limiting sugar (and carbs). I started with Raw Meal shake (which I didn’t care for, and was later recalled). These have a low carb and sugar count, which the doctor approves. I like that it is dairy free and soy free. The 20 grams of protein is usually enough to keep me going between breakfast and lunch, and then between lunch and dinner. Coupled with the low sugar content, I have noticed that I don’t have issues with blood sugar control. I test blood sugar several times a day, and have had some amazing results that I haven’t been able to achieve with medication alone. The chocolate flavor reminds me of instant jell-o pudding. I prefer it over the vanilla, but usually do 2 vanilla shakes and one chocolate shake each day. (This is in part because of the better price for the vanilla.)I plan to keep buying these shakes as long as they help me reach my goals. I am especially looking forward to my next A1C results, which I expect to be improved.

Great taste and energy boost, my fave protein powder!
I have been drinking these for about two years now. My favorites are the chocolate and vanilla, chai is also pretty good if you want something different. I drink my shakes with 2 scoops of powder and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Helpful tip: Put a little almond milk in your blender bottle, then put the powder, then add the rest of the almond milk. Otherwise the powder will stick to the bottom or top of your cup 🙂 If I want something different besides plain chocolate or vanilla I will break out my real blender and make chocolate cherry, or chocolate/pb/banana shakes and those are also delish.I usually drink the vanilla just by itself as I think it tastes similar to a vanilla cake batter. I feel a noticeable boost of energy after a few days of drinking these in a row. I saw another reviewer saying it gives him gas but that has never happened to me. I think you are safe with this one! I can’t drink whey protein because it hurts my tummy but this stuff makes me feel so healthy! Hope they never stop making it!

Product that expires the same month was delivered!
I got this product with an expiry date the same month, meaning it’s expiring in a few day of receiving. It did not agree with me giving a bloated stomach even after reducing to just 1/4 of recommended amount. I have no choice but to trash the entire can.

My absolute favorite
I purchased from a chain store, moved an hour away & it’s so much easier buying on Amazon. I didn’t find an artificial sweetener taste at all, however I mix it with a ton of stuff. I can taste artificial sweeteners from a mile away and run. I hoped the stevia would be tolerable & it totally is. The nutrients are a killer bang for your buck, after buying all of these vitamins and stuff I was broke… I found this and it had everything and more. I add frozen fruit & different juices with 100% fruits & veggies & I never even taste the protein powder. I couldn’t imagine just mixing with water, that has to be where the bad reviews come from. I put it in the blender with all my favorites & have a killer meal prepped in no time. I didn’t move to shakes/powders for weight loss, but to add the minerals & vitamins I couldn’t fit in otherwise. It’s an intelligent move, I always say it’s not about what you take out of your diet because once you’re full of the good stuff there’s no more room!!

It gets you through the day!
I’ll start off by saying that I’m a landscaper, so I’m very physically active every day. I eat a decent breakfast, pack food for the day, and usually 2 protein drinks. I have tried many different mixes over the years ranging from soy, to whey, to different vegan mixes. I have found that the vegansmart all-in-one nutritional shakes not only taste better then their competition, but they work better. Originally, I wanted good protein or nutritional shakes to help further my daily diet. However, as busy as I get I have ended up using them to fill the gap between meals. I will say that they definitely work great for that. Compared to other mixes out there, you will actually notice a feeling of being satisfied shortly after you have one. They help me maintain energy levels for my entire workday. Others out there sometimes taste like chalk. These do not. So, if you’re looking for a protein shake, or an all-in-one shake, look no further. This is my final answer. Any of the flavors are good too.

The taste great/feel great shake mix
First, I give the vanilla flavor five stars. It’s perfect for blending in fruits—fresh or unsweetened frozen. If I want a chocolate shake, I’ll simply add a scoop of unsweetened cocoa powder. The fruit and chocolate shakes taste like a rich dessert, yet since they are packed with vitamins, minerals and amino acids, I feel great after having one for dinner and even better—more energetic and sharper the next morning. The only reason I gave this product four rather than five stars is because the other two flavors (chocolate and wild berry) are just too sweet for my tastes. But that’s just me—even with chocolate I only enjoy it very dark. Others may love the other two flavors. I should also mention that this product has been very helpful as a weight-loss aid.

Best Protein Powder Ever!
I love, love, love this product. I decided to stop eating flesh meat over 5 years ago and since then have been looking for ways to supplement my protein intake. I have in that time tried many various protein powders, from whey , to hemp, to pea, and was never truly satisfied with any of them. I first found this product at CVS, I tried it and it was the first one that did not make me bloated, was not chalky, not awful tasting. This product is flavorful, no nasty after taste, no bloating, mixes well with water, almond milk, fruit, almonds and even almond butter. It cost a bit more at CVS and only came in the Vanilla flavor. I was overjoyed to find it on Amazon, with the Chocolate flavor and at a better price. I truly hope the price remains the same and does not get jacked up because everyone is now buying it. Please don’t jack up the ingredients, it is great as it is. Finally I would also like to see this product offered on the subscribe and save program offered by Amazon. If not just keep it on Amazon Prime. Thanks

Great stuff
This is my favorite meal replacement shake. I have tried a number of them. I’m not a huge fan of the vanilla but love the chocolate. Great ingredient and nutrient list. Mixes effortlessly in a shaker. Most days I just mix it with cold water. It is very rich and smooth as is and I feel no need to add almond milk or anything else. That makes this product very easy to incorporate into a busy day at the office, on the road, or where ever. When using at home, I mix it with 8 oz unsweetened almond milk plus 8 oz cold water which adds a good source of calcium. Those who have said the vanilla flavor tastes like cake batter have hit the nail on the head! It really does taste just like that, very creamy, rich, and sweet. Not my personal preference, but is good if you like that kind of thing. These shakes are satisfying with great nutrition to calorie ratio and as a result are very useful as meal replacements for weight loss. I have one every day for breakfast.
